We Need More Guns--and More (Profitable) Protection!

"The demented, highly profitable and deeply cynical logic behind arming everyone.

The shooting at Umpqua Community College may prompt schools to follow the example of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, which purchased bulletproof whiteboards (from Harwire LLC) for its classrooms.  Instead of gang-rushing would be killers, as Ben Carson suggested, professors or students can instead rip these whiteboards off the wall mid-attack and deflect the barrage of bullets...

In another line of its burgeoning business, Hardwire installed 52 pieces of armor in a Maryland stadium, 'magnetically attached to beams and disguised as advertisements for local businesses.'  In the event of a shooting, the pieces of armor 'would come right down off the beams to offer protection.'"

eye'm thynkin':  Really? Let's ignore the infection, slap a (profitable) band-aide on it, and congratulate ourselves on a job well done.

What's next, toddler-sized bullet proof vests?  Armor-plated textbooks?

Common sense has left the country.

Quote for Monday, November 2

Ben Carson is now polling ahead of Donald Trump.

A doctor who hawks nutritional supplements and a rich white trash carnival barker who hawks himself are leading the race to be the Republican nominee for President of the United States.

The only other Republican earning double digits in the latest poll is Ted Cruz, a man whose claim to fame is leading the charge to shut down the federal government.

How did our political system come to this?

monday quote:
"Because Carson's voice always sounds so moderate, responses that make no sense whatsoever can sound sort of thoughtful until you replay them in your head."

4 GOP Candidates, Standing Up for Bigotry

"The organizer of the 'National Religious Liberties Conference' in Des Moines, Iowa, announced (on Thursday) that Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, and Bobby Jindal have committed to speaking at the summit, which will take place (this) month... Ben Carson has also RSVP'd for the event, although Carson's name was not included in (Thursday's) press release.

Kevin Swanson, the conference's chief organizer, is a far-right pastor and host of the 'Generations Radio' program, on which he has frequently claimed that the government should put gay people to death, warned that the Girl Scouts and the movie 'Frozen' turn girls into lesbians and blamed natural disasters on gay people and women who wear pants."
