Update: Anti-Trump Skywriter Found?

Yesterday I shared a story about a skywriter flying anti-Trump sky ads over the Rose Parade.

Update:
Today, it appears someone may have identified the party who paid for that work.

"It turns out that the individual who bought the anti-Trump sky ads at the Rose Bowl is a supporter of Trump's rival for the Republican nomination.  That person happens to be Luther Stan Pate IV, a real estate developer with millions, who is a backer of Marco Rubio."

eye'm thynkin':  The Republican nomination process has turned into a middle school playground spat.  All that's missing is a couple of "Nyah Nyah so's your mothers."  Of course, with Trump running the show and no policy to speak of, what else can you expect?

Republicans Say the Darndest Things: Cruz Explains That Murder Isn't Killing

U.S. Senator and
Republican Presidential Candidate
Ted Cruz

Following Ted Cruz' promise to "carpet bomb" ISIS, Newsmax host Ed Berliner asked the candidate whether that promise wouldn't force him to violate his Christian faith and the Bible's admonition against killing considering how many innocent lives this action would take.

Mr. Cruz offered his own unique interpretation of that particular commandment.
"Let's be clear, the Bible says, 'Thou shalt not murder,' which is different from 'Thou shalt not kill.'  Defending yourself is an obligation of any president.  It is not murder.'"
what eye thynk:  I learned the sixth commandment as "Thou Shalt Not Kill," but there are plenty of examples of other interpretations that use the word "murder."  Bible Hub lists 21 different interpretations of this commandment, from King James (Thou Shalt Not Kill) to Young's Literal Translation (Thou dost not murder).

It appears that, according to those scholars who have interpreted the Bible over the centuries, the terms are interchangeable. Two thousand years later and along comes Ted Cruz to set them straight.

The death of innocents during a declared war is as ugly as it is inevitable.  Proudly stating your intention to take innocent life outside of war is beyond ugly and evidence of a mind drowning in its own effluvia.  Furthermore, using your own unique and self-serving interpretation of the Bible to make light of those deaths in order to advance your own political ambition is unquestionably a violation of another of Christianity's rules:  #3: Thou Shalt Not Take the Lord Thy God's Name in Vain.

Ted Cruz, a bad "Christian," a bad choice for America.

And the Stupid Gun Owner of the Day Award Goes to...

"A Union (South Carolina) man suffered a gunshot wound after he sat on a gun...

...When a police officer arrived on the scene, he said he found a man lying on the floor in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the left leg...

...The officer then asked the man where the gun was, and he told him someone left with it but he didn't know who it was...

...According to the police report, the man told the officer he got out of the shower, sat down in the chair, and the gun went off...

...To reiterate, the man claims he was taking a shower, then sat on a chair and accidentally shot himself.  Meanwhile, someone he doesn't know just happened to be strolling by his bathroom or bedroom and took the gun."

eye'm thynkin':  If this is one of those good guys who we're supposed to count on to keep us safe, I would suggest that the people of Union, South Carolina are in danger of total annihilation.

January 2 - A Few More Stories I Found

1 - 'Family Values' GOPer Thinks He Should Be Able to Grab Nipples of Breastfeeding Women
m'eye thoughts:  Could these lawmakers be any more juvenile? Let's hear it for New Hampshire Republican state representatives Josh Moore and Al Baldasaro--two adult-sized man-bodies ruled by snickering 12-year-old boy-brains.
2 - British Parliament to Debate Banning Donald Trump As Petition Forces Government To Respond
It's extremely doubtful this will ever come to pass, but if it did, Trump would only be the first in a long list of anti-Muslim, hate-filled American politicians to make the list.  When your allies notice you're an a**hole, maybe it's time to admit you're an a**hole.

Okay, I was going to take today off, but this...

January 1 - Another Story I Found

1 - Skywriter Leaves Hilariously Honest Messages About Trump Above Rose Parade (images)
m'eye thoughts: "There are a lot of ways to express your disfavor of a presidential candidate. However, some are just far more entertaining and hilarious than others... (like) the group that goes all out, hires a skywriter, and has a message of disdain written across the sky over the nationally televised Rose Parade."
