Quick Fact - Colorado Oil and Gas Suing Denver Over Fracking Vote

Here we go again!  (See my post of December 19 re: Michigan Legislature Ready to Replace Law Struck Down by Voters in November.)

In November, Denver voters passed a law that prohibits fracking within city limits.  The Colorado Oil and Gas Association has filed a lawsuit to overturn the vote.  They are saying that voters had no right to ban the drilling practice.

So elections only count if you agree with the results?  Next thing you know, Mitt will be showing up in Washington in January ready to take the oath of office.

  1. "The servants of a righteous cause may fail or fall in the defense of it, but all the truth that it contains is indestructible."
    Thomas Dorr 1842

This quote refers to the Right to Vote at a state level (Rhode Island) regarding a disputed voting rights issue and a 'near revolution' within that state.

The 'People', led by Mr. Dorr intended to fire two stolen cannons into the state arsenal. Both cannons were rusty and failed to fire. Mr. Dorr and several of the would-be 'rebels' rolled the cannon back to their original location, and went home.

History lesson aside, The Constitution and the Bill of Rights were penned as a guide, because the founding fathers knew that 'government' is a continually evolving entity and must be held fast as intended

So, with Michigan stealing the value of the vote, by the 'people', and the big money pushing that fracking (pun intended) suit in Colorado, you just gotta wonder...

By the way, what ever happened to the oft repeated phrase, of the Republican Congress, that went: "The People have spoken".
