More Jokes from Ted's Dad

An addendum to yesterday's post:

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is now saying that his father, Rafael Cruz, was "joking" when he said we should send President Obama "back to Kenya."  Ann Coulter told Piers Morgan "It was clearly a joke.  I give a lot of speeches, the Kenya references always kill."  (Because racism is so funny to Republicans?)

Interestingly, at first, Ted Cruz denied his father ever made the Kenya remark. Then, when he was shown video proof, the video of that speech was pulled from the internet.  Some news agencies had already copied the video, so Ted's attempt to delete the record was not completely successful.

Here are some other hilarious thoughts from Rafael Cruz, evangelical preacher and frequent Tea Party speaker:

  • As a prelude to the second coming of Christ, there will be an "end-time transfer of wealth".  This time, God will seize the wealth of the wicked and redistribute it to true believers.  Only those who "tithe mightily" will benefit.
  • The U.S. government wants "to take all of your money" and confiscate "our fortunes."
  • President Obama has vowed to "side with the Muslims".
  • The ACA mandates "suicide counseling" for the elderly and that "those death panels are in Obamacare."
  • Gay marriage is a plot to make "government your god." and that the "wicked" are now ruling the United States.
  • "As God commands us men to teach your wife, to teach your children--to be the spiritual leader of your family--you're acting as a priest."
  • The Democratic Party promotes "everything that is contrary to the word of God."
  • Barack Obama never uses the word "Creator" and when he recites the Pledge of Allegiance, he never uses the words "under God."
  • "Social justice is a cancer."
  • Christian "true believers" are "anointed" by God to "take dominion" of the world in "every area: society, education, government and economics."
His belief would have the U.S. become a type of theocracy--and we can see how well theocracies work in the Middle East.  Dominionist pastors held a ceremony in Iowa last July where they blessed and anointed Ted Cruz as their "king" who will help usher in the kingdom of Christ--beginning this year.

That Rafael Cruz--what a funny guy.
