November 4 - Monday Quote

Does this remind you of any one in particular...or a particular political party perhaps?

monday quote:  His primary rules were:  never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

(from a profile of Adolf Hitler written by the U.S. Office of Strategic Services shortly after the end of World War II)

  1. Scary as hell, ain't it? The uninformed are being led into the very trenches that all that they stand for despises.
My grammar is shot to hell but ...

  2. me again: I've made this comparison before by referring to German politics prior to Hitler's take over, thinking a historical comparison would open some eyes.
Yes, I have made this comparison before but never with a quite from Hitler himself. I may be wrong, but I believe this quote is from Mein Kampf (Adolf Hitler,1925). There are several references to it online

  3. Hitler used similar language re: a big lie in Mein Kampf and that may be where part of this analysis comes from; but this quote is from a US.report written after WWII.
