August 3 - Monday Quote

Correction!  I mistakenly published this earlier today with $889 billion as the amount the Kochs will spend.  I apologize for sloppy typing and even worse proof reading. The correct amount the Kochs will give is $889 million. Still way to much for one family to put into any election.

This past weekend, the Koch brothers umbrella organization Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce held another   seminar    audition for Republican presidential wanna-bes.

At a similar meeting in January, the billionaire brothers said they planned to spend $889 million on the 2016 election.

This week's Monday Quote comes from that earlier conclave.  I'm sure Mr. McKinnon--who switched his political affiliation from Democrat to Republican after meeting then Governor George W.Bush--thought he was being funny.  Those of us who have been priced out of full participation in our democracy are not smiling.

monday quote:
"For that kind of money, you could buy yourself a president.  Oh right, that's the point."
(Mark McKinnon, political advisor and Global Vice-Chairman of Hill & Knowlton Strategies, 1955-     )

  1. Of course the Sorros, Bloomberg, Gates, etc. purchase of the Communist Democrat party that's been going on for years gets a pass. Rather a one-sided view of the political pollution to just mention the Koch's without noting the others…don't you think?
