Jeb, Marco...Go Home. Even Florida Doesn't Want You

What does it say about your chances when voters in your own state want you to quit?

what eye thynk:  If Florida is any indicator, (and it should be), both Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio ought to stop wasting time and money and just go home.  Or in Mr. Rubio's case, back to Washington to do the job he is being paid to do.  Mr. Bush can head to Texas to lick his wounds on the family ranch.  I'm sure W can give him some pointers on living the life of the unloved.

Public Policy Polling's latest figures:

  1. Donald Trump ---28%
  2. Ben Carson --- 17%
  3. Jeb Bush --- 13%
  4. Marco Rubio --- 10%
Further indicators of the paucity of home state support for Jeb and Marco:
  • Jeb Bush --- should continue his campaign 40%, should drop out 47%
  • Marco Rubio --- should continue his campaign 42%, should drop out 48%
Just in case Jeb is still harboring any delusions about his popularity in Florida, only 36% of voters there say they have a favorable opinion of him.

Looks like Mom Bush was right, we've had enough Bushes.  As for Marco Rubio, I really thought he would be running higher in the polls, especially with the U.S.' growing Hispanic population; but he isn't even starring with Hispanic voters in his own state.  Not a good sign.

We still haven't seen an actual vote result, so polling could be entirely wrong; but home state popularity has historically been an indicator of a candidate's viability.  If you can't win your home state, you can't win.
