Segregated School Bathrooms, a Little Known Christian Right

"A bunch of Ohio parents went ballistic after a young transgender student tried to use the girls' restroom in an elementary school.

A board meeting was recently held at the Northwest Local School District to address the situation, and several parents in the district showed up to protest...

...The school district had to explain the federal law to the group of parents--some of whom were Christians and 'don't believe in this'...

...Although parents expressed other concerns throughout the meeting, it was clear that a main complaint was morality.  Despite the clear explanations from school officials, many parents couldn't get over it, and felt like the transgender student's bathroom choice was in some way violating their religious rights.  One woman said: "I despise it.  We're Christians, we don't believe in this all these different types of males and females--you know, what we have now.  We have slowly watched all of our rights, our Christian rights, are being taken from us.  We're tired of it.'"

eye'm thynkin':  You "don't believe in (all) these different types of males and females?"  What the hell does that mean?  You've never seen "one"?  You have seen one but he/she was a hallucination that faded when you closed your eyes tightly enough? They are actors hired by the liberal left to tempt the religious right?  What?

And I am curious--in what book of the Bible did these "Christians" find Jesus' Parable of the Faithful Bathroom?

  1. there have always been bigots, there has always been folks with a very narrow view of the world, and there has always been ignorance. Often times you can find them all in one pot.
In this case you have a generation being introduced to some thing new to them. Not some thing new, something new to them.
They've known about homosexuality all their lives. Hell, they made it a crime. It frightened them, it went against their 'grain'.
Two words jump to the fore ~ one is ignorance, the other homophobia. They fought .same sex interaction all of their lives. Hell, their grand pappies for it too. Probably strung up a 'queer' back in their day. Same for trans genders.
The only thing they have to fall back on is their 'community'. In many cases it's a place where they find like minded citizens. And in many cases that place is a church.
The bible didn't address bath rooms at all, but these good folk (and most probably are) grew up know that their 'privates' were private. Even among people of the same gender we all practice some form of modesty. And most all of us would be taken aback to see anything out the 'ordinary' peeing or popping in 'our' bathroom.
Well, to those who don't like the fact that the same law that prosecuted non straights now protects them; get used to it. Quit hiding behind some silly intention that God and/or Jesus hates "those people".
Ya wanna know, if HE were able, what Jesus hates? HE hates hatred. The New Testament is all about love and tolerance. So listen up you gay bashers, get over it and begin a new journey. One of love and understanding.
