Last Thursday I wrote about two "good guys" with guns who tried to play hero and failed. One of the stories was about a woman who thought it would be a good idea to pull her perfectly legal firearm out of her purse and fire it at suspected shoplifters in a crowded public parking lot.
Update:
"A 46-year-old Clarkston (Michigan) woman accused of firing gunshots at two men who were driving away from a Home Depot after stealing merchandise has been charged with reckless use, handling or discharge of a firearm.
Tatiana Duva-Rodriguez is accused of firing the shots Oct. 6 at Home Depot, 4150 Joslyn Road in Auburn Hills. Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper said charges were filed Tuesday morning."

Bingo. Just because someone has a concealed carry permit, doesn't always mean they know what they are doing. One solid, undisputable rule for carrying a weapon is that it is to be used to save your own life or the life of another. Further, you cannot shoot at someone who is running away from you. To run after a shoplifter and shoot at them in a crowded parking lot is not only illegal, but highly dangerous as well. You just cannot run and fire a gun at the same time and expect any accuracy. She apparently saw a movie where someone running was firing a gun at the same time with a steady hand. Terminater 3 comes to mind. I am glad to see that she was being charged, but sadly, she will never understand the full depth of her stupidity.
