Don Gino Flaim of the San Giuseppe Parish in the northern Italian town of Trento, gave a jaw dropping interview on Italy's La7 channel, in which he claimed that he 'understands pedophilia' and then proceeded to defend pedophile priests as good men pursued by unloved children who wear down their resistance.
"Unfortunately there are children who seek affection because they don't receive it at home,' said Don Gino Flaim. 'and I understand that some priests can give in.'
According to the IBTimes, Father Flaim followed up his supposition that he 'understands pedophilia' by attacking gay people, as if those subjects have something in common. Father Flaim said that while he knows why pedophilia happens, he's 'not sure about homosexuality' at all.
"Pedophilia is a sin...but homosexuality is a disease.'
Father Flaim's interview has been roundly criticized throughout Europe."
eye'm thynkin': Well, I should hope so! This is beyond disgusting. This man should not be a member of clergy...in any church.
