Roseburg Newspaper Publisher to Obama: You're Not Welcome Here

The nine Umpqua Community College shooting victims
"David Jacques, the publisher of the Roseburg Beacon, the newspaper serving the Oregon town where the Umpqua Community College shooting took place, says President Obama is not welcome in his town.

When asked what he thought about rumors that Obama could be making a visit to the town soon, the publisher did not mince words.

'I think it's very inappropriate and disrespectful to the families.  The fact is, the president has no connection to this community, and he has no connection with any of the families.  And, he made it abundantly clear in his press statement.  He's holding a press conference 3,000 miles from here, almost implying that he single-handedly could have prevented this if the Congress would have listened to him.'

The truth is, Obama is America's President.  That's his connection.  And, Mr. Jacques may not like to admit it, but since Obama took office (of the entire nation--including Oregon), he has had to give 11 speeches following tragic mass shootings.  He's tired of speaking about it frankly...

...This small town newspaper publisher--and people who think like him may not like gun regulation--but it is the President's domain and responsibility to make it a national discussion."

eye'm thynkin':  Disrespecting the President of the United States has become a characteristic of political identity for the right; and any chance to demonstrate your differentia is an opportunity to be relished.
