Republicans Say the Darndest Things: Gohmert Says Gay Sec.of Army Will Offend Afghanistan

 U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert (R)

Representative Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) is urging the Senate to block President Obama's nominee for Secretary of the Army, Eric Fanning, despite Mr. Fanning's obvious and overwhelming qualifications.  Mr. Gohmert is claiming that, because Mr. Fanning is openly gay, his appointment may send a message to Afghanistan that we condone the sexual abuse of children.

In a recent interview with Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, Mr. Gohmert said:
"What do you think they will think when they hear that not only did we tolerate what was being done to their boys by people under out authority but we turn around and approve a Secretary of the Arm that they as moderate Muslims believe is just an atrocious thing?"
what eye thynk:  Representative Gohmert is once again demonstrating typical conservative selective ignorance in the face of facts.

Until he understands, or at least acknowledges, the difference between homosexuality and pedophilia, Mr. Gohmert should shut-up.  Every time he opens his mouth he further substantiates his standing as an official, card-carrying, charter member of the Good Old Pinhead Club.

  1. I'd be willing to bet that the majority of males, straight or gay, don't think of young males in a sexual setting.
And, I know (I went to school) that psychology has taught us that when we say, or think, some thing, that 'thing' is already in the head of the person saying it.
I know gay men and have never heard a one comment on a minor child. I know, or know of, a lot more straight men ~ like this dip stick and have heard but a few make such a dumb ass remark.
Kinda makes one wonder what old Louie Gohmert thinks about while laying in bed waiting for sleep.
