Yes, Ted Nugent is a jerk. But even for him, this is awful. Nugent posted the picture (left) on his Facebook page with this comment:
"Know these punks. They hate freedom, they hate good over evil, they would deny us the basic human right to self defense & to KEEP & BEAR ARMS while many of them have tax paid hired ARMED security! Know them well. Tell every1 you know how evil they are. Let us raise maximum hell to shut them down!"
eye'm thynkin': Excuse me, but did Ted Nugent just threaten these people? And he questions why they would want armed security?
We've heard moderate and liberal politicians and pundits remark that today's Republican Party, echoing the example set by Donald Trump, sounds a lot like last century's Nazi Party. Republicans have largely ignored the charge.
Then along comes Ted Nugent, an NRA board member who is currently campaigning with Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R), and who apparently wants to make it clear that the GOP is not LIKE the Nazi Party, they ARE the Nazi Party, 21st Century American Chapter. Considering the number of American leaders who support gun reform, there can be no other reason these twelve were singled out other than for their faith. Just to make sure we get his point, Mr. Nugent kindly includes a tiny flag of Israel with each photo. So which does he hate more: gun reform or Jews?
That Mr. Nugent is so blatantly obvious tells me he does not expect any negative feedback--not from the Republican Party, not from the NRA--and that shows just how far we have fallen.
